Hi. Just exploring your offering. Thanks for the radio links. I miss CKUA from when I lived in Alberta and still listen to them on the web but yours is a good local alternative. I will try to make it to some of your concerts. Who else in the lower mainland has similar concerts? In Calgary and Edmonton there must have been about 8 clubs one of which we belonged to. Cheers,
Rick

Further to Brian's comment - that is really too bad...there was a contradance with Steam (Alice and Robert who have sadly left) and they started an open band who all played at that event. Everybody, dancers and caller included, loved the concept and it brought in lots of fresh blood. The evening was a huge success. It would be nice for the Rogue to encourage such endeavours

its a shame the Sybarites no longer allow " sit ins " at the dance ...it was a great way for musicians to get some stage experience and helped the Rogue folk club attract volunteers to help at the dance...maybe there will be a change of heart from the band leaders when they realise how important the partnership is with the Rogue.

Looking forward to seeing you guys perform again. By the way-my boy took some pics and videos of you that I can send your way if you like.

Hi, I'm the girl who was getting married the day after the Le Vent du Nord show, and the one who got the champagne! I wanted to leave you all some feedback and thank you for all the work you did for a SPECTACULAR show! My partner of 25 years--now my wife! \0/--and the other two ladies with us had an amazing and unforgettable time! Looking forward to another chance to see a show put on by you folks, and if my girl and I ever move to Vancouver we are totally coming to find you, because you will clearly know where all the awesome sessions are. Thanks again! :D

Looking for musicians to form a Trad Irish/Canadian band. I sing and play guitar and bodrhan. I am male, 36 and looking to meet people for jam sessions/rehearsals at first and eventually to perform live. I would also be willing to join a group that needs a singer. I have my own gear and PA system and looking forward to hearing from anyone that is interested.

I am new to Canada. Finding your folk site is a great relief to me, as I have been missing my music terribly since arriving in October.
I am a singer on the folk scene in the UK and I am looking for singers' sessions and mixed music sessions, as I also play one or two things. I enjoy singing acapella, harmony and accompanied.
No doubt I'll be up to Vancouver when I can, but if anyone has any information about where I can find such things closer to home on the Lower Mainland, I would be so grateful.

I'm a Roxanne P. fan, have one of her CD's but had never heard her live.
I think she has a gorgeous voice, and I love her rockin' songs, but when she does the ballad type ones, where you hear the beauty of her voice, you can't hear the words. I thought Dawson's guitar was WAY too loud. We were there to hear her, not him, much as I know what a great musician he is.

Hi all,
I'm holidaying in Whistler first week in November so asked my old friend & fellow shantyman Tom Lewis what's on folk-wise & he suggested I keep an eye on your site. GREAT suggestions; looking good & hope to see you in November!
Cheers, Cap'n Otto.

Hi Steve,
I would love to see Mary Gauthier at the Rogue Folk in the future... Did you get a chance to see her at the Vancouver Folk Fest this year? I saw her last summer at the Duncan Folk Fest and she blew me away. One of the best performers I've ever seen (I saw her on main stage there, as well as in their intimate concert room - she was excellent in both venues)

Cheers! Linda

Experienced Willie & Lobo for the first time last night. One of the top ten musical experiences i've ever attended. Thanks for bringing them to Vancouver for all of us to enjoy!!
