Keep in Touch

There are two ways you can receive these updates automatically:

Hi everyone

I'm going to try to keep this short because this is a busy week for me.

1. Rogue Website Updated

First off, have you been to our website lately? It's packed with new information about our concerts. There's been a major update this week, so click around and see what we have in store for you.

2. Radio Rogue Updated

While you're there you might also click on the link to Radio Rogue, which has just been updated with 50 brand new songs in the playlist, which features music by upcoming performers at the Rogue, some who've recently played, and a few brand new releases. Plus some old favourites. Here's the link, follow the prompts and treat your ears to a few hours worth of music you won't hear anywhere else (more's the pity, I suppose!)

3. Rogue Folk Review for April coming soon

There will be a new issue of the Rogue Folk Review out early next week. Watch for a deluxe online version too!

4. The Edge On Folk, CiTR fm 101.9, Saturday 8am to noon, also streamed live on

The Edge On Folk this Saturday is still in the pre-planning stage, but I've got some new music from Qristina & Quinn Bachand, Alison Krauss & Union Station, Oh My Darling, Juno winner Elage Diouf for starters.

5. Pizza Night

Thanks to everyone who came to the pizza night last Tuesday. The turnout was pretty good, but we didn't have enough later diners. Still, it was an excellent evening and the food and the company were fabulous. We'll let you know how much money we raised as soon as we find out for ourselves!

6. Radim Zenkl & Craig McGregor, Friday April 1, 8pm, St. James Hall (3214 West 10th Avenue)

This Friday we have a special concert with Czech musician Radim Zenkl. I saw him showcase in Austin at the Folk Alliance a few years back. One of the most impressive showcases I've ever seen! After blowing me away with some astonishing musicianship on a variety of mandolins he picked up some wooden flutes and the like from central Europe. Amazing music! Such a creative and talented guy. When he first arrived in California in 1989 it was only natural that he should team up with the likes of David Grisman and Jerry Garcia. He's a frequent teacher of mandolin workshops at the Bluegrass Camp in Sorrento BC and has made many friends up here in Canada. One of those is guitarist Craig McGregor, who will accompany him on Friday evening at St. James Hall. Radim is also holding a Mandolin Seminar at Prussin Music on Sunday.

We still have tickets left for the concert, and they will be available online until Friday afternoon, and at the door from 7pm that evening.

7. What / who is Will Call?

A number of people have phoned us in the past couple of weeks wondering where to claim their tickets once they have purchased them online. Will Call is an American theatre term for the Box Office, so when we say Tickets at Will Call, that really means you can pick up your prepaid tickets at the door (use the left hand line-up and avoid the slower cash / credit card line on the right).

See you at the Rogue!
