The Lonesome Town Painters are a hard-driving traditional bluegrass quartet hailing from Vancouver, British Columbia. These fellas have a look, style and sound that harkens back to the raw and ragged edge of the genre. In the seven years since they met in a late-night jam session, they’ve established themselves as one of the top bluegrass acts in the Pacific Northwest and Western Canada, entertaining a growing audience of fans at numerous festivals, concert halls, bars and clubs.

Their previous two albums received rave reviews from international bluegrass publications, and now with their third release, “Go Out & Paint the Town”, they've really upped the ante. The album’s title began as a lark, but during the two years of its slow-walked production due to the global pandemic, became aspirational. With fourteen strikingly original numbers and one traditional standard, enlisting award-winning studio technicians John Raham and Andrew Collins as well as renowned fiddle player Isaac Callender, this release establishes The Lonesome Town Painters as an integral part of today’s bluegrass landscape.

“The Lonesome Town Painters excel at combining skill and sentiment. Unlike some of their contemporaries, they make no attempt to veer from the template or add any unexpected elements to the mix. Rather, they do the opposite by simply adhering to a familiar formula. It works to their advantage; every offering sounds like a standard, one that’s practically indistinguishable from any of the music made by the masters...every offering keeps to that singular spirit of classic bluegrass through its emphasis, execution, and articulation. Simply stated, nominations for the IBMA Bluegrass Awards ought not be out of the question." – Lee Zimmerman, Bluegrass Today

‚Äč"The Lonesome Town Painters certainly meet, and even surpass, expectations. Their picking, lead singing and harmonies are impeccable. And their original songs (bandmembers wrote nearly all these 13 tracks) are starkly original and emotionally and thematically varied, even as they hew to strict early bluegrass conventions." - Bob Allen, Bluegrass Unlimited

The Lonesome Town Painters are:
Patrick Bartel, banjo and vocals
Fred Beach, bass and vocals
Angelo Eidse, guitar and vocals
Jeremy Freeman, mandolin and vocals
