JUNO-nominated and award winning west coast guitarist, Marc Atkinson and his trio, join forces with local violist extraordinaire, Cam Wilson! Experience the fusion of guitar genius and captivating violin melodies in one spectacular performance.
Celebrated for his guitar repertoire, Marc Atkinson is the leader and composer of the internationally renowned Mark Atkinson Trio, an acoustic instrumental group (and co-founder, composer and performer in the acclaimed band The Bills). The music of this virtuosic group is melodically captivating, sensually charged and ferociously, technically awe-inspiring and good-naturedly welcomes all listeners aboard for an intriguing, exhilarating and unforgettable ride. Marc Atkinson is backed by Scott White on bass and Jody Rutherford on rhythm guitar.
The Trio has toured worldwide, including North America, England and Europe, and praised for their talents with standing ovations at highly-acclaimed festivals such as the Montreal Jazz Festival, the Vancouver International Folk Festival and DjangoFest Northwest.
Special guest, violinist Cameron Wilson is one of Vancouver's most sought-after studio musicians. Wilson is primarily known as an arranger and composer of both musical parody and intersecting musical genres. He’s currently a member of the classical crossover piano trio, Joe Trio, gypsy jazz quartet Van Django, the Hard Rubber Orchestra, Mariachi del Sol, francophone trio Pastiche and Tambura Rasa. He has been a featured violinist and fiddler in recordings with Bryan Adams, Denzel Sinclaire, Nickleback, Charlotte Diamond, Jeremy Fisher, Karin Plato, Spirit of the West and Raffi.
