1. Rum Ragged & Twin Embers, Friday November 10th, 8pm, Mel Lehan Hall at St. James (3214 West 10th Avenue)

Tonight's concert of Newfoundland Folk Music with Rum Raggedis Sold Out, and there won't be any tickets left at the door. However, we encourage you to book a ticket for the livestream  This will be an incredible concert! If you have friends or family with an interest in Celtic music and / or with Newfoundland roots, why not ask them to tune in, too?

Here is a link to the commemorative brochure of tonight's very special concert, which pays tribute to the pioneering work of folk song collector Margaret Sargent-McTaggart, who was the first musicologist to collect folk songs, dances, stories, and even recipes in Newfoundland after it became a Province of Canada in 1949. Margaret lived in Vancouver for most of her life and passed away in 2020 at the ripe old age of 100. Rum Ragged will perform a few songs she collected in St. John's and Branch back in the day, and some of her descendants will be present at the concert.

There will also be a short opening set from Vancouver fiddle duo Twin Embers.
