Keep in Touch

There are two ways you can receive these updates automatically:

Hi everyone

Seasonal Music

To wish you all the very best for the season I've made a new 8 hour playlist on Radio Rogue, consisting of 120 seasonal songs - of a Roguish nature! Follow the links on our home page for Radio Rogue, and for best results we recommend iTunes or Winamp. I'll change the playlist again on Saturday to some of my favourite albums of 2008 and previews of concerts we'll bring you in the new year. Happy listening. (Radio Rogue was stuttering and rebuffering a lot in the last week or so. Sorry about that. We rebooted the eMac today, and I'm listening now, and it sounds great.)

This Saturday from 7am to 8am I'll be Sheryl McKay's guest on CBC Radio One (690 Am, and I think it's 88.1 fm, and 93.5 cable fm) North By Northwest, showcasing some of those favourite albums of 2008, and then I'll head off to CiTR for The Edge On Folk from 9am to noon (on 101.9fm, and streamed live on www.citr.ca). The Student Union Building will be closed until 9am, so I'll just have to go in later - as I did last week.

CiTR will be playing heaps of Christmas music - and I stress that it will be alternative Christmas music for the most part - over Christmas Day and Boxing Day. I can't recall when we've done this before. There will be no DJs or announcers. On the plus side, you'll have a ready-made - and enormous - playlist of seasonal music to keep you company while watching Shaw's log fire and shutting out the winter. (Only if you can't pick up Radio Rogue, of course!)

Last-Minute Gifts

If you're looking for last minute gifts and can't face trudging through the snow again, why not consider a Rogue Folk Club Gift Certificate? You can call us on 604-736-3022 or email me, and we'll take your credit card details and email you a Gift Certificate that you can print out and give to your loved ones at Christmas.

We've also made a special edition 2009 Rogue Folk Calendar, featuring photos I took of artists playing at the Rogue over the last few months. The calendar is in large format, on heavy photo card stock, and spiral bound. This unique souvenir will be sent direct to you by FedEx within a week of receipt of your order. The cost is $35 including postage and packing. Just email me or call, and I'll call you back to get your credit card details.

Wassail Tour on Boxing Day

The Vancouver Morris Men will stage their annual Wassail Tour on Friday, commencing at Trout Lake at 4pm. They have chartered a bus, which will convey participants to the various locations for the cost of $15 per person. They will also be at the Billy Bishop Legion, on Laburnum St. in Kits Point, around 5pm. For more information, email Oliver on manysheds (at) gmail.com

Thank You

Finally, thank you so much for your support in 2008. It has been an incredible year, with some really fabulous concerts - most of them very well attended. In fact, we reckon it's been our best year to date. So thanks again.

Wishing you all the very best for Christmas and we'll see you in 2009.

Wassail! Happy New Year!
